Dr. Winkler's love of animals was revealed early on when she used her Fisher-Price doctor kit to treat her stuffed animals. She grew up spending the school year in NYC and summers visiting family in Germany. Her education took her to varied and exciting locales, including The Bronx High School of Science in The Bronx, NY (often referred to as "The Big Apple"); The University of Vermont in Burlington, VT; Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Manhattan, KS (known as "The Little Apple"); and an Equine Internship in San Luis Obispo, CA.

A veterinarian since 2006, Dr. Winkler is passionate about animal health and well-being and the human-animal bond. She is always looking to expand her knowledge base and skill sets. She particularly enjoys dentistry, wound repairs, behavior, and client education.

Outside of work, she loves going on mini-adventures near and abroad with her extremely energetic husband and two children. She balances her love of crafting, cooking, gardening, very slowly renovating their home, and inherent bookwormishness with the energy and focus of a young golden retriever crossed with an occasionally concussed goldfish.
